Welcome to the Circus

By supriyaheart

Welcome to the circus.

Where all are but few are unique in their own special ways

They are the  outcasted and the exiled .

The grotesque and the monstrous.

The strange and the bizarre

The ferocious and the wild.

They're  seen but never heard

Trapped inside their carnival of fake grins and amusing shrieks

And tricks that they know all to well to fool a bystanding audience like you

Welcome to the circus

Where  juggling  clowns and disappearing magicians rule your world for 3600 seconds of your life

And they know that no second shall not be wasted on boring you.

So they spend decades of their lives  to train to be the freaks they are.

For a smile on your petty little face.

Welcome the circus

Where they  are not a  casualty  of society but a worthy adversary.

They are not the trained monkeys or elephants you perceive us to be.

As they to have lungs that breathe and hearts that beat and brains that  think.

And to think any lesser would be a fool man's game.

Welcome to the circus

Where all is not the salted caramel popcorn you bought from the vendor.

Or the balloons that you bought that can fly away at your will.

Because when that balloon goes free, it can go where it pleases and be accepted.

They cannot do the same.

Welcome to the circus

enjoy the show.
