I want to believe that life goes on without you. That we engulf ourselves in grief only to awaken as new. Reborn into our own skin and lives by the grace of a greater being than humanity.
After the loss, you are not reborn out of grief, it is reborn into you. Sinking into your marrow, you adjust your inhalations exhalations inhalations to compensate for this new weight within you, this burden of life you are carrying in your blood.
A common misconception is that death steals life from the living, that it takes, only takes. A truth I have reached is that death has not removed you from my life but cemented your place in it. You live forever in every person who has learned to live without you.
