Secret Meaning (10 min writing challenge)

Secrets can be anything.

They can be a simple sentence, or they can be an entire story. A person, an item, or an idea. Secrets can be good, bad, or they can be completely neutral. But what's almost more important than the secret itself is the reason behind why no one is saying it out loud. Are they ashamed, embarrassed, afraid? Maybe they want to cherish it before releasing it into the world.

Once a secret is said out loud, it stops being a secret at all. It becomes a story. Perhaps it's a battle wound from a childhood fear. Or it could be a personality quirk that you're finally willing to share. It's good news to be celebrated. It's a guilty pleasure. It's a family recipe. It's a confession.

Secrets can be anything.
