The Inscription Reads: Here Lies a Fisherman's Disparity

Cover Image

Wise are the words

Of stories unheard,

Long tales of love.

Letting hope settle in the seas.

Hold on to your heart.

Stand vicious and tall

With your back to the wind

And a tear in your pocket.

Forget time,

Her hypnotizing tick

Keeps a crocodile’s smile

And swallows the weak

When they’re cloaked in sorrows.

Here’s your message in a bottle, sailor.

The only one you’ll ever know

With disappearance on your breath

And longing in your eyes.

Death is your sole shipmate,

Your lone witness;

For these waters are much more

Than six feet under

And this boat,

A temporary tombstone.
