Their loss

Cover Image

My thousandth night in this second city
Yellow-haired angels with short dresses
And much longer legs
Look fierce, ferocious
They glide along the sidewalk
Their lightness competes only with mine
And with the dull glow of neon signs
And half-burned out streetlights
I make believe these girls are mine
That with a smile and a wave of my hand
They would kill for a night with me
When in reality
They would laugh me off
Brush me away
Like a dead spider
From their shoulders
I keep my distance and say that they’re missing out
