(Who are you and what do you do?)
I am Moncoeurdeverre, but my real name is Amanda. I do a lot of things, and enjoy trying something new, but my main focus is drawing and writing.
(What's the origin of your artist name?)
My artist name is in French and means, my heart of glass, I went with this because, it’s often so easy to let little things and people hurt us,like our hearts are made of glass, but we are always able to put ourselves back together and, like the saying goes, that which does not kill me, makes me stronger.
(What has been your biggest challenge with your art so far?)
Caring too much what others think of my work, if I am happy with a finished drawing, it doesn’t matter if someone else doesn’t like it or even a certain aspect of it.
(4. Who or what is your biggest influence?)
My family, friends, and experiences I've had.
(5. What is your wildest story?)
I don’t suppose I have one, my life is kind of boring at this point, but hopefully this won’t be the case for long.
(6. What is the last book you read?)
Drive by James Sallis, it’s the novel that the movie was biased off of, but, I feel it has a lot more detail and depth to it, as well as a few characters that didn’t make it into the movie.
(7. If you could be any character in fiction, who would you be?)
Sherlock Holmes, I love how perceptive he is, but without the drug use.
(8. What couldn’t you live without?)
(9. What is your secret talent?)
I guess this is a talent, not sure of how many other people do the same thing. As I read something, like a book or even a poem, I see it in my head. I’ll read a book and once I get into it, it won’t feel like I’m reading at all, it will instead feel more like I am watching a movie in my mind…which kind of sounds strange, I know, it also makes it hard to see movies biased on books, after, I’ve already read the book.
(10. Tell me about the last dream you remember having?)
My house was on a cloud, drive way and everything, and I would go out, sit on the side walk and just watch things as they passed.
(11. What are you craving right now?)
Understanding, direction, and love
(12. What was the last song you fell in love with?)
Saltwater Room by Owl City
(13. Can you hula hoop?)
Nope, but I always give it a try
(14. What do you like?)
The Quiet and being alone
15. What do you dislike?
When someone is asked to do something and they spends more time not doing it and complaining, than the task itself would have taken.
(16. What’s the best piece of advice you’ve been given?)
Never let others dictate how you feel or what you create.
(17. How and why did you start RECording?)
I stumbled across this site, not entirely sure how to tell you the truth, and thought it awesome that there was a place like this for people to come and not only submit their work ,but also build on other’s and then when it’s done, the final piece is this thing, made up of what all these people, of different backgrounds, ethnicities, and ideas, put it, sometimes making a big change, or sometimes the change is more subtle, but the point is no matter how small the contribution may seem, if it’s not there, the final product will be different. I often wonder, if you start with two of the same exact things, and have a time period for people to add to it, when that time is up, how completely different will the final products be, even if the same people worked on both, I’m sure in the end, there would be a difference, not matter how slight it is.
