I was a cat on cat days - poem

Cover Image

I was a cat on cat days,

But on dog day afternoons

I lazed around, a happy hound,

In the sun of highest noon.

On rainy mousy Sundays

I'd wring my tiny hands.

I'd scurry to and hurry fro

to meet the day's demands.

And when the moon was slivered,

Just clinging to the sky,

Too scared to show housecat distain -

Those nights, I was a lion.
