Like the rain

I feel just like the rain

He confessed his body was burning, splitting apart and his ashes, burnt in a bucket of clay

I feel just like the rain

And he said back to me, don't think less of me, I'm still the same man I used to be

I feel just like the rain

The way it's cold and wet and unwelcoming, and how he took everything away from everything that's familiar

I feel just like the rain

The way he weeps quietly, muffled now, into his shirt pocket, as he falls on the muddy ground

I feel just like the rain

As he empties his dirty laundry to me and he tells me everything he has tried to cover up

I feel just like the rain

Washing all his secrets away, never letting him save up for a rainy day

I feel just like the rain

Pouring out my thoughts, rinsing them over his naked chest, tipping my spitty kisses over him

I feel just like the rain, spilling, dropping, splicing, crashing

Falling down.
