When I was young, it was "Baby, I Need Your Lovin'", by Johnny Rivers

Lately, "Holocene", by Bon Iver

But, ultimately, "Late for the Sky", Jackson Browne

Name your top ten favorite films (no more, no less, no ties):

1. Adam's Apple (Danish)-best movie of all time, imho

2. Southern Comfort

3. Devil's Advocate

4. Jeremiah Johnson

5. Jacob's Ladder

6. Collateral

7. Lost in America

8. Office Space

9. Christmas Vacation

10. The Last Picture Show

If you could hang out with any Hitrecorder for the day, who would it be?

a very tough question, but because they were so kind to me when i first joined hitRECord, and because i love their work: AnneMarije and Emma Conner

What is your current favorite Hitrecord Record (not your own) :

another tough one...The Cuckoo Sings at Midnight"/Emma Conner

Name at least one physical attribute that sets you apart from others (I want people to do this because it's important to feel unique and appreciate yourself, no matter how cheesy this sounds!) :

i've been told i look French many times (my grandmother was a Bouvier..and i do like french fries, french toast and french kissing)...and when i've been out in the sun a lot, people start speaking Spanish to me

If you had to live the life of a villain for the day, who would you choose?

the devil, i.e. Al Pacino in The Devil's Advocate...he was so good, i now think Al Pacino IS the devil

If you could have a drink with anyone in the world, who would it be?

sadly, it's too late to have a drink with Kurt Vonnegut...so, Jackson Browne

Would you rather live in our world, Middle Earth, Alice's Wonderland, or some other crazy world?

some other crazy world, i.e. inside my head

Aliens or Predators? (if you're unfamiliar with this you can skip it.)

Aliens...#11 on my Top Ten Favorite Movies

What's the earliest, most vivid memory you have?

being at a party when we lived out in the middle of nowhere in South Texas...we lived on an oil and gas lease...back then, there was no gas pipelines in the area, so the oil company flared the natural gas...there was a cemetery up on the hill and at night i could see 2 stone angels with natural gas flares burning all around...looked like somewhere between heaven and hell...maybe purgatory?

What's your favorite number and why?

8-my wife's favorite #, because it's the infinity sign...and i also like being #1 sometimes

Do you have any superstitions or idiosyncrasies?

superstition: i believe you have to give up all hope for something good to happen (it's 100% effective)

idiosyncrasies: no, none whatsoever

If you've seen Inception, do you think he's awake in the end, or not? (This question is more for the sake of debate than anything. I already have my own conclusion, and Christopher Nolan wanted people to wonder and have their own opinion.)

by the end of Inception, i wasn't sure i was awake or not-i liked the movie, but my head is too full to process all that information

What's the most appealing scent to you?

what Vedder said-women (specifically, my wife)

Your favorite book is_____?

tie between:

Cat's Cradle/Kurt Vonnegut

and

my second novel, The Vinegaroon Murders

What animal would you be if you had to be one?

bonobo chimp...just 'cause i like saying bonobo...and they solve all their problems by making love, not war

Who has made the biggest impression on your life?

my late father, whom i call St. Charles...because, he was a saint

You're about to die and you have one wish. Your wish cannot be to save your life and it will affect everyone you leave behind. What's your wish?

that my loved ones won't have to watch me die

What is the strangest thing that has ever happened to you?

my college roommate and i were driving back home on a friday night and it was literally a dark and stormy night...we had driven the same road many times...a straight line from San Marcos to Beeville, Texas...we drove through Stockdale and when we saw the sign, we both looked at each other in disbelief...we had just driven through Stockdale about 20 minutes before...cue the twilight zone theme
