bargain bins in crowded aisles

By blbest

we've lost our sight
in color televisions
and computer animations
of heaven

we buried it in coffins lined
with dollar bills
and hair extensions,
insulating the body
of a young flapper

her lipstick more modest, than that which
we now shelve in department stores

we recycle waste at an astounding
speed,
to force feed weekenders
with silver spoons

disposable as it is common,
but it's sold
as long as we're still buying.

we always will be.
