Forgotten Lover's Soliloquy

Document
Cover Image

Within this hour I find but uncertainty

Of who I am...and of what I've become

But a shadow cast by something mightier than my own

A life forgotten by one once lived

And I weep...oh how I weep

Of songs and poems and of words once whispered

Now but embers among the fires of a dying sun

Yet I stay though the ground burns beneath my feet

For where else shall I go...I know of nothing more

I have no refuge than that of under your shade

Allow me death where I felt at most alive

For any other end would not be as sweet

As that beneath your loving arms

Haunt me no longer spirit...grant me rest

For no longer can I bear your insurmountable weight
