Okay, folks: We're moving the Dance Dance Repetition project into its new phase...We're remixing our remix, and expanding it into a larger piece about hitRECord. We've got a great, energetic base track to work from. What we want to do now is to take it out of the dance club and into the back alley behind it : )
HERE'S WHAT WE NEED...Hopefully by Sunday noon, since this is when we're actively working on this collaboration in the Sundance REC room:
We're looking for high energy parts that aren't strictly 'dancey'. Any synth parts should be on the more aggressive, digital side. It would be awesome to have some crunchy guitars to play with, too. Equally awesome to have would be more live drums and percussion. If you've got no such instruments...Can you sing a rhythmic part? We're not looking so much for lines and melodies as much as short loopable 'parts' ('beep', 'boop', 'ahh-ahh'...Whatever you're inspired to do). And check this (!) :
Set up your webcam to record your video and audio input: put on headphones and listen to the track while you do your part. You don't have to do the whole song...Just one good iteration of your part will suffice. Record both the audio and the video, and put up your record as video. That way, we can cut your picture in along with the music, stuttering along with the audio part we make out of it.
If you can't get it done right away, we'll be revisiting this track a bit throughout the week before our big screening on Friday, so don't let that discourage you from putting something in.
