Can water catch on fire?

Burn up to a crisp?

When a kettle screams

Is it really the water?

Yelling in agony

From its third degree burns

By the time we open the kettle,

is it too late to see the sparks?

Too late to see the pain

to see the suffering

To see the firey hell which

has kept the water trapped.

The kettle's scream is a cry

of hope to escape that torture.

The water has steamed up

It has floated it away

Its agony has taken over.
