Before The Done

Cover Image

Carpe diem; seize the day or watch Peggy Sue fall right into the arms of Dane.

And then what?

Continue to live in misery,

While you picture your queen locking lips with another man.

Now if only you had started running last spring like you said you would,

Last night would not have gone the way it did.

You, her and a dance floor polished in sweat.

Dane in the corner wishing he was you.

Oh Peggy Sue,

Give me another winters chill and I swear I'll tighten up my edges.

Right now these legs aren't meant for dancing;

A trim here, a trim there and you'll be asking for more.

No more small talk,

awkward hugs

or inflated comments.

When I'm done with this run things will be different.

we'll fall in love

get married and have a big family.

All I have to do now is just find my running shoes.
