RE: "Who Are you" questions

Cover Image

1. Who are you and what do you do?

I'm Becky. I try to do the whole acting and singing thing

2. What's the origin of your artist name?

Well my full name is Rebecca Charlotte Rose Collins. The names "Rebecca" and "Collins" are both very common names so it was always tricky to find an email address. I came up with BeckyCharlotteRose when I was about 15 and it has stuck. I love my middle name a lot more than my surname so it kind of worked out for the best

3. What has been your biggest challenge with your art so far?

The confidence to say "I can do this"

4. Who or what is your biggest influence?

My mum, my dad, my brother and my Grandparents.

5. What is your wildest story?

I don't think I have lived it yet.

6. What is the last book you read?

Jekyll & Hyde - Robert Louis Stevenson

7. If you could be any character in fiction, who would you be?

Peter Pan...I know...he's a boy. I don't want to be a boy but I want to live in Neverland and fly and sword fight with Captain a kid forever, damn it.

8. What couldn’t you live without?

My mum of course. Without her, I literally wouldn't be here.

9. What is your secret talent?

Like Joe said, it wouldn't be a secret if I told you.

10. Tell me about the last dream you remember having?

It is honestly too traumatic for me to talk about. I have the most terrifying nightmares. Really screwed up. I can't believe my mind creates them. Scares me a little.

11. What are you craving right now?

12. What was the last song you fell in love with?

No specific song, just the 500 days of summer soundtrack...beautiful.

13. Can you hula hoop?

14. What do you like?

The thought of living away from England.

15. What do you dislike?

Bullies...I don't like you people, you aint cool.

16. What’s the best piece of advice you’ve been given?

"You should start dance training". Thanks Grandma :) <3

17. How and why did you start RECording?

This is going to be a downer...but don't worry, it gets good :) I have been dancing/singing/acting/performing since the age of 2. My Grandma and Grandpa have always been performers. When I started High School, apparently it wasn't ok for me to be myself. I got severely picked on. After school each day, I would go straight to dance class and take out all my frustration on the dance floor in my bare feet, jazz shoes or tap shoes. It stayed this way the whole way through my early teens. So performing was an outlet for my anger and frustration. This was a reason but here comes the main reason. What I haven't mentioned is the fact my beautiful Grandparents passed away through it all. I found a poem my Grandpa wrote about me. I can't remember the whole thing but I remember two specific lines "Rebecca with her voice so sweet, continue to use those talking feet". Grandpa always used to refer to my tap dancing as talking feet. So that was it - I stuck with it.

I have always been a performer but I would love to step out of those shoes for a bit and get into actually creating something and hitRECord is a great place to start.
