what if the sun could
sink down one of its
piercing rays
and penetrate
slip down into your
body sneaking
in between molecules of your
skin drop
like a hook and pulling
at your delicate tissues
so meticulously set
in place by God
ligaments and nerves that snap
like rubber bands
what if the sun
would then select a vital organ
a lung
or a heart
seizing it up greedily toward itself up
up up the ray springs back to the sun with its prize
that shrinks in the heat and is
reduced to a solid
mass of rubbish
molten plastic
while the body
is left behind
and cold as stone
