Interview with ruffedges 1. Who are you and what do you do? I’m known to most as ******** and I’m 25. I am Scottish and have a real love for my home. I have been to university twice and dropped out twice, over which I have no shame, if anything I'm a little proud, stick that I'm your pipe and smoke it dad. The courses I took were 2years of a 4year product design course and 1year of a 4year media studies course. Now and for the next couple years probably I will mostly be doing statistical management to optimise production for an international company, happy fucking dayz I know. 2. What is the origin of your artist name? I’m not sure where it came from, although I feel it dose me good service. It just sort of came naturally when I was asked for a user name, fingers found the keys and ruffedges took over. 3. What has been your biggest challenge with your art so far? Fanatical. Ability or lack their of. My biggest fear is that I'm not really that creative, and I think that can, on occasion, be slightly detrimental to the arts. 4. Who or what is your biggest influence? I have many influences from many walks of life that help to influence me in different ways. The real and living people whom I know and influence me are: my parents, they are a real source of inspiration for their incredible work ethic, and my sister for her creativity, she’s an artist and she’s awesome. There are millions of others, living and dead, that I don’t know most prominently right now; Jack Kerouac, William Blake, Leonardo Da Vinci (in my opinion the most magnificently creative mind ever) and Bill Hicks. Also, slightly unrelated field, Travis Pastrana due to his apparent willingness to try anything with no regard for his personal safety. 5. What is your wildest story? I have had a reasonably interesting life and I have done a few things I consider epic. I once toured around France in a broken van which wouldn’t go over 35miles an hour, which got pretty wild; we had a mattress in the back and a lot of booze. Joy riding may be the wildest thing I've ever done, but I probably should go into that. Ooh, and I was once dragged from a fight by the police, which escalated rapidly (almost turned into a riot) and ended up in the news. 6. What is the last book you read? Last book I read was The Catcher in the Rye by J. D. Salinger, decided to revisit some classics. 7. If you could be any character in fiction who would you be? God, oooh feel the controversy. Aragorn from lord of the rings, Clarence Worley from True Romance, Sherlock Holmes and if all else failed I too would have a go at being Harry Potter. 8. What couldn’t you live without? Passion, and probably internet/cinema/books and music. 9. What is your secret talent? I’ll let you know when I find out. 10. Tell me about the last dream you remember having? Last night I kept dreaming that I was waking up, and then I’d dream I was waking up again, in some sort of Groundhog Day thing. 11. What are you craving right now? Beer, Mary Jane and a hug. 12. What was the last song you fell in love with? Satellite of love, Lou Reed. 13. Can you hula hoop? Nope, maybe a little as a kid. 14. What do you like? A great deal for such a pessimist. 15. What do you dislike? Any sort of discrimination, and failing when I’ve done my best. 16. What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given? Breathe. 17. How and why did you start RECording? Couple months ago I read something online about HitRECord.org, checked it out and fell in love.
