Secret Passage

By lisa

There is a little door at the end of this gorgeous sandstone side gallery at the Taj Mahal. It was only about 3' high. I wondered where it lead to, or if perhaps it was used by servants to bring cool drinks to the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan as he walked the grounds lost in memories of his beloved. My guide had no interest in answering such superfluous questions. Taken at the Taj, Agra, India 2004.
