Long exposure, Christmas lights
An assignment for my photography class last year was to mess with long exposures and the cool effects you can create with them. It was around Christmas time, so I decided that the lights on my porch would make a nice subject. I set up my tripod, set the shutter speed (I don't remember the setting, but it was pretty long), and swiveled the camera around during the exposure. This was the result.
