Into the Dust [poem every day] Day Twenty Nine

By threepixel

Into the Dust

I am homesick
As I pass
Beyond the trees
Of a land that was,
Looking up beyond the sky
The stars burnt out between,
Clouds of cold.
Trees, bare of bark,
Void of green,
The ground cracked with twigs,
No animals seen,
The trees around me crumble,
A world destroying itself
To be like the others,
To ruin one's health.
Always in
A constant race,
To bite off our
Nose to spite our face.
The blackened soul of
A moon once white
Nears the end,
Like us,
Fading slowly
Into the dust.
