Tripping Stone -- Reading -- recite a poem every day

Cover Image

I’m a tripping stone

the rock that peaks up too far

to catch at an unsuspecting toe

to pull on a dragged heal

why I’m uneven is a mystery to me

to stand out as a hazard

so quiet and still and unseen

if only the one who lain me

liked an even course

loved a peaceful approach

expressed a need for a calm existence

the path nearby is smooth as silk

as placid as unmarked water

so take care with your steps

perceive what’s before you

I am a tripping stone

may your trip bring you home
