In the future, I predict we will finally(!) decimalise our system of time! So my vision is......
The year will no longer be divided into 52 weeks of 7 days consisting of 24 hours, 60 minutes or 60 seconds i.e. 86,400 seconds a day.
The day will be divided into:
10 decidays which are each divided into
10 centidays which are each divided into
10 millidays which are each divided into
10 microdays which are each divided into
10 nanodays (each of which last .864 of our current seconds).
Time will generally be written as
22.214.171.124 (pronounced thirty four twenty six)
(Occasionally with the nanos also - 126.96.36.199.7)
These new units of time give rise to phrases like...
'I've been waiting decis!'
'Give me a micro!'
'I'll be ready in 20 millis.'
Weeks will have 10 instead of 7 days so
- 36 weeks of 10 days and 5/6 days each year dedicated to community and family time.
The new days will be named after the 10 principles upon which we decided to found our new society; morality, justice, family, friends, community, equality, solidarity, empathy, environmental appreciation and happiness thus giving us...
Each week will have 5 days of work/education/practical labour and 5 days for leisure/creative pursuits/community and family activities.
With regard to the school life of a 16 year old girl, as the accumulation of knowledge will no longer be a priority (due to the immediate access to same on the Communiweb) I envisage her school subjects focussing on developing thinking skills and critical awareness thus consisting of....
Ethical Decision Making
Critical Analysis of History
Appreciation of Nature
Empathy and Solidarity
Happiness and Contentment
Taking Care of the Earth
Just really some musings on the topic......
Also... I predict this collab being a lot of fun! :-)
