With darkness always comes with uncertainty, the fact that our ability to see is crippled once the lights are turned of means that we no longer take in as much as we do when there's light. Being people, I think that it isn't the darkness we're afraid of, it's the uncertainty. We want to know and we need to know what's out there, we like being prepared. But when we don't know what's out there, we start to panic, we start to think of these horrid this just to make sure we're prepared if in any instance it would happen. Maybe that's why we're scared, maybe that's why we've made monsters.
