cigarettes (la petit mort)

By musing5225

i want to wrap my lips
around you
swallow your deep tones
inhale your unique scent
filling my mouth
letting my breath rest

i want to watch you burn
writhe beneath my gaze
as though my lips were poison
as though i held
the keys to heaven's gates

i will swallow you

i will let you go
again and again and again
until you're nothing
nothing but ash

(though you will linger on

my fingertips, a ghost
haunting my lips)
