Serpent's Scale

Cover Image

I once knew a language bearing fruit
Only flourishing on the frost-coated days
But in this heat became thawed
Then cooked,
And before being eaten,
Has rotted beyond comprehension.

Doomed to live out my days in a heap
Of snakes and decomposed rivers
