FILM: "Condolences to Yesteryear"

RELEASED: 1974

SYNOPSIS:

Set within the sleepy suburbs of a small town in Illinois, Charles Toback's surreal drama explored the turmoil between Katherine (Heather Sharpe, in her film debut) and Anthony (Shane Daniels) as they embarked on a road trip through the dusty terrain of the Midwest en route to the California coast. Featuring moments of sheer shock and boundless beauty, this controversial film is perhaps best known for the deserted highway tracking shot that follows its main characters into an abandoned cattle ranch, where the film's emotionally wrenching climax occurs.
