FILM: DRAWING BLANKS
RELEASED: August, 1968
Jack and Meadow have been best friends since they were children. As they enter the prime of their lives, their feelings change: to those of romantic love. While seemingly everyone they know becomes drafted in the Vietnam war, the pair decides to hitch a ride from a northbound caravan to Canada.
About the film, the REC Journal had this to say, ‘Never before, in the history of cinema, has there been such a beautifully-told tale about draft-dodgers in America.’ Drawing Blanks is, at its core, a human experience story that uses our hopes and fears as ammunition.
