Less Rest for the Restless (#11)

Cover Image

There is a pattern before retiring to bed

Aside from brushing teeth and laying down thy head

First a repast followed by amusement and play

A nightcap to smooth over rough edges of the day

Maybe a puff or two of the herbal persuasion

Change into something more comfy for the occasion

A nightgown, or t-shirt and a pair of old shorts

Make the best sleepwear and evening cohorts

I plump up my pillows and smooth out the sheet

Preparing my dreams to converge and meet

Neatly within the safety of my four bedroom walls

Except my wild heart is restless for adventure calls
