In my bed,

Cuddly, snuggly and warm,

It's cold outside,

Yet, I am safe from harm.

In the pale blue light,

All that shows is a form,

Holding on to the stillness,

And peace of the night.

I hear the roar of the cars,

Speeding by my window,

Not even aware of this glorious splender.

If only they knew what I know,

they would stop and surrender.

How could anyone give up this bliss?

The way the covers surround me,

Like a heavenly mist.

Leaving it would be a travisty.

I would be remiss.

The softness of my blanket,

Rubs against my face.

It feels so good and comfy,

It's a furry, lovely place.

But alass, the alarm is blaring quite loud,

Jolting me awake from my slumbering shroud.

I have to get up and face the chill's embrace.

But then my mind whispers, making its case,

Just hit the snooze and go back to sleep,

Five more minutes of rest to reap.
