Maybe I'll Call Him Jeffrey

My
mind is a playground

Look there’s creativity!

She’s
playing tag with my right hemisphere

Morbidity
is sitting in the corner,

Sometimes
he’ll interact with humor

Sarcasm
stop pushing Kindness!

He
can be so mean. . .

Memory
isn’t living in the present

Sometimes,
I’m afraid he bores people with his stories.

Shyness
is nowhere to be seen,

But
buoyancy is everywhere.

Optimism
and Pessimism are hand in hand.

And
my thoughts are controlling it all.

They
can be so bossy;

Directing
everything from one topic to. . .

Wait
a minute,

Why
am I here?

And
that was the little part of my brain

That
takes over sometimes.

He’s
always there,

Sitting
in the back of my mind,

Curled
in a ball.

He’ll
question me,

Asking things I couldn’t ever comprehend the answers to;

Questioning
my existence, and my purpose and my logic.

He’s
been there for so long, but,

I
don’t know what to call him yet.
