Whisper (ten minute writing challenge)

Cover Image

I wish I were but a whisper
upon eastern winds
roiling across the golden fields

To follow along with subtle contours
and the jagged ridges on the face
of the earth

old words spoken
breathe life into me
each spurns my will

like the stirring gales
during a calm
as a storm builds up

I would visit old places
only familiar to those
for whom I am meant

I wish I were a whisper
riding on the winds
flying far to many places
only meant for the ears of one
