Patterns: Black & White (A Poem)

Black and white and black again

Circles and lines they had come to befriend

The striking contrast, how the tiers never blurred

Each in his place, each color unstirred

These opposite fellows played nicely together

One heavy and burdened, one light as a feather

The ebony hardened and grim to the core

While the milky hue glistened, so brightly, so sure

White and black and white again

Repeating rows of a pigmented blend

Inky dark shadows, lightless & drone

Black had it all, while the white stood alone

What pattern was brewing, what difference was made?

Why the series was heightened by each announced shade

And layer upon layer, the figure did grow

Never to stop, it continued to flow

Black and white and black again

Repeating rows of a pigmented blend

White and black and white again

Circles and lines they had come to befriend

[Note: I added resources of images I think might go well here.  Or to spark some ideas for a possible animation]

[Note 2: When I revised this, the phrasing got all out of sync....I don't know how to change it without making everything double spaced!]
