Opening Monologue RE: FANTASY (notes)

By Joe

—Have you ever noticed that your fantasy life is always perfect?  Then you go and screw it up by trying to make it real?

—"Fantasy love is much better than reality love. Never doing it is very exciting. The most exciting attractions are between two opposites that never meet."  ~ Andy Warhol

Albert Einstein once said imagination is the preview of life’s coming attractions. And every invention starts as someone's fantasy.

Kurt Vonnegut said: “We are what we pretend to be, so we must be careful about what we pretend to be.”

Is Fantasy just an Escape from Reality, or is it rather a way of understanding it?

Do our fantasies offer us a temporary escape from a permanent problem?  Or can they lead to real solutions?
