Stormy Summer Afternoon

By nolaaberry

The heated concrete lies beneath my bare feet
Dark melancholy clouds creep over the blue sky
My long dark hair dances, tickling me as I walk inside

Birds chirping, crickets singing, frogs croaking.

Silence.

"Rumble, rumble, rumble," The thunder said.

Long limbs shaking, black waves crashing, eerie winds howling.

The somber sky cries above the dreary house
Atrocious bright lightning flashes over the sorry sky
The house whispers in fear, haunting me as I write

Silence.

Birds chirping, crickets singing, frogs croaking.

"Quack, quack, quack," The ducklings said.

Long limbs standing, blue waves calming, gentle winds swaying.
