Normal

By ohwoww

Everybody has a story
Tell me, what’s yours about?
Not that I actually want to know
But any simple act of compassion will win your trust

Call me a cynic if you want
There’s no use denying it
Everybody needs a label;
A reminder of our expectations of “normal”, what we strive to be

We gotta break through the walls of limitations
We gotta tear apart the chains that hold us to the ground
Maybe then you’ll hold my hand,
Lift your head high and smile on the darkest of days

It doesn’t matter what I think
The decision’s been made
Life isn’t worth living when
You’re only alive to be better than someone else

We gotta break through the walls of limitations
We gotta tear apart the chains that hold us to the ground
Forget what you’ve been told about the different
Forget who you are or who I am and
Maybe then you’ll hold my hand,
Lift your head high and smile on the darkest of days

Everybody has a story
And someday I’ll tell you mine
