LITTLE GIRL ON THE CORNER
BY R. S. B. S
Little girl on the corner with tears in your eyes what shadows creep behind those tears, what fears do you hold? Locked inside a closed up heart a closed up mind. Come rain and wash away the pain take away the cries of ones lonely heart.
Stand fast dont fall to common peoples bitter calls. Heart of stone never breaking but to you shaken by thrown stones. Screams lights flashing torn clothes unhappy lies from people standing by. Feeling nothing head lowered in shame from gross names shouted out by unforgiving unhappy people.
Little girl your eyes so bright yet lowered lift up your head lift up your smile stand tall and dont listen to the calls from behind. Move forward reach out unlock the cold closed heart unlock your mind look out to the horizon.
Feel the breeze blow against your face. Wipe away the tears wash away the pain grasp the rays of the sun. Run like the wind and free yourself from the chains that bind you love yourself before you love others.
