What do I know?

By Deanne

Write what you know.

Ok, I’ll try again.

I want to start from the beginning, but I can’t remember where it is.

Eenie meenie miney moe, Deanne has no direction to go. First try, second try, third try, still no. Deanne has no direction to go.

I am rambling. My rambling is always the same.

Thursday afternoon. My class ended early and I was in my dorm, no one else was on the floor. This never happens. Peaceful.

Knock, knock.
“Hello, I’m here to sell you some magazines in support for this cause…”

God. How long do I have to listen to this? I hate people trying to sell me on crap. Interesting he even got up here, the front desk is not supposed to allow solicitors in the building. Assholes.

“Can I come in and give you some information? “

Why does everyone say can instead of may. You can do anything, may you come in is the question.

“Would that be alright...?”

Now this is the time where Oprah comes into mind. Don’t let strangers in, even if you feel they will think you are rude. It does not matter. Protect yourself and listen to your instincts. Instincts are your best defense. Yep, I know, I know.
This is the part that gets me so annoyed. I think it’s my annoyance that blocks my beginning, end; everything besides this middle patch that I wish was blocked by everything else. Tuning into instincts….shut the door and scream. Seriously. Do it. Something is not right. DO IT! God I’m so paranoid. This is crazy.

“Can I come in, it will just be a second and it is so hot outside.”

He is going to think you’re rude. Just leave the door open. “Ok, just for a second though, I have another class soon. “
“Thanks. You’ll love this.”

Why is he shutting my door?
So now I try to write what I know. Why is this all that comes out? This is not all there is. This is not all there is to me? Right? Move on, move on, move on.

Write what you know.

Alright, let's try again.

Eenie meenie miney moe. This bitch needs to find a way a direction to go.

What do I know?
