Love is like grass

By grcwriter

Poem

Love is like grass

It withers under the heat
of the harsh glare of an unrelenting sun.

Love is like grass

It renews under the healing
of a gentle rain.

Love is like grass

Left un-tended it can grow wild
thrashing stalks that go to seed.

Love is like grass

Stepped on it bends, but doesn't break
and bounces back when no one is looking.

Love is like grass

Torn out and ravaged, left to die
as long as one rootlet remains, love returns
