RailRoad

By JamesKnight19

You're falling apart, watching the stars.
Like a wolf in the night, darkness kills your light.
And you fall back, onto, the bleeding scarecrow.
What's become of, this lovelier road we once knew.
You're batting your eyes, clouds crawl skies.
It's as happy as it ever was, or once was.
Just disengage, don't, be afraid, it's okay.
It's okay to be angry, when you feel like you lost.

So pack up your bags, let's get on the train.
We're going away, now, we're leaving today.
I can't watch the cars, and these movie stars.
Without wishing, and hoping, you'd come, back home.

Remember all that I knew, because you made it true.
Just link back to that swing set, and paint a picture.
Coat in a little mixture, of panic and grief.
But your blue tint, hazel eyes, give me relief.
Because I write without knowing, where ever I'm going.
You know it's real, but yet you can't see beyond the pale.
And these storms getting colder, the thunder's louder now dear.
And you're not here.

So pack up your bags, let's get on the train.
We're going away, now, we're leaving today.
I can't watch the cars, and these movie stars.
Without wishing, and hoping, you'd come, back home.

I took the road, I found most appealing.
And the horror in revealing, always came back, haunting.
I kiss your lips, and I recall, days spent under covers.
Just mixed and matched lovers.
But something is missing, the train starts hissing.
So when I turn around, to pick up your bags.
I'm grasping at air, and that's when it hits me.
You were never really here.

So I picked up my bags, I sat on the train.
I'm going away, now, I'm leaving here today.
I can't watch the cars, and I can't count the stars.
Because the window, isn't large enough.
